Certain questions have baffled man kind for a long time. Some have divided uneducated people and scholars alike, such as the creation against evolution fight. Since Charles Darwin's theory of evolution became prevalent, there have been people arguing for and against the evolution of man kind. Creation Theorists believe that evolution is nonsense. Evolutionists believe that the creationist view is nonsense. Let's take a brief look at the beliefs on each side of this argument.

Creation Theorists believe that the world was created by the Lord in six days, as is written in the book of Genesis. Many of the people who subscribe to this believe see no further need for proof. It is written in the Bible, and for them that settles it. Evolution, they claim, is faulty.

Evolutionists believe that man has evolved over time to become what he is today. This advancement occurs by survival of the fittest, a proverbial "weeding out" of traits that don't adapt well to the environment. Evolutionists proof rests in a combination of scientific evidence and theory. Some evolutionists claim that the Biblical account is just a metaphor, and some discount the Bible entirely.

There are a number of Christians whose views do not fall into the creationist category, just as there are scientists who do not agree with every aspect of evolutionary theory. There are evolutionists who adamantly oppose Christianity, and those who agree with most of its teachings. There are pure evolutionists and there are those who settle somewhere in between. There are as many opinions on this issue as there are people arguing about it.

Because this argument deals with issues that have very personal meanings to some of those involved, it is difficult to find value-free information on the matter. There are great scientific minds, both Christian and non-Christian, who have written on this topic. Their biases are often apparent despite attempts to remain objective.

Brilliant and highly educated people have disagreed on this for years, as have uneducated people. Neither side is likely to "win" this debate any time soon.
